The Standard General English Course takes place every morning from Monday to Friday, leaving students free during the afternoon to join the social programme or study in the school's self–access facilities.
Morning lessons are divided into two parts and generally taught by two different teachers. The first lesson's aim is to improve students' accuracy, focusing primarily on grammar, reading and writing, while the second lesson concentrates on improving students' overall communicative proficiency and fluency, focusing on listening, speaking and vocabulary. Students will also be able to work on specific pronunciation difficulties and improve the language they will use in real–life situations.
Students from outside the EU taking this course for 25 weeks course in Ireland and England are legally allowed to work part–time.
