About Berlin

Berlin is the capital city of Germany. It has about 3 millions and a half of inhabitants and it is the most populous city of the country and the second one in the European Union after London. It is also one of the most important centres in Europe from a political, cultural and scientific point of view.

In fact, Berlin is an exciting and vibrant city that changes eveyday, it has a great nightlife to offer to its visitors, a unique cultural variety and many pictoresque lakes and green areas.
It is hard to find another metropolis offering such a great variety of green spaces as Berlin do. In the city centre for example, you will find the Tiergarten, the so called "green lung" of Berlin, which during summer turns into a huge area for barbecues or for spending free time with friends. Again, lakes represent a good alternative to spend an afternon by tanning and relaxing yourself, cause the beach is located exactly in the centre of the city at Wannsee and Müggelsee.

Berlin is the favourite destination for tourists in visit to Germany, because it so full of things to visit that people who have never came here can not tell to know Germany, and people who have already been, usually want to come back: it is impossible to visit completely the city, also because it is in constant changing.
The political and cultural relevance that this city had in the past has created an incredible amount of monuments and museums and still nowadays Berlin is a very dynamic place from a cultural point of view.

The city is living now the peak of its transformation, it has been blocked by a division of 40 years and it is turning now into an important capital, the headquarter of the Parliament and of the governement, it is for this same reason that Berlin hosts today a great amount of new and innovative pieces of urbanistic and architecture that allow us to say that it is possible to find here the most interesting buildings of the present time. Potsdamer Platz and the Reichstag are two examples of this, and entire quarters have risen from the construction sites that had characterised the city for years.
